What Naira Marley said as he begs Buhari and Tinubu over his case with EFCC
Naira Marley has begged President Buhari and Bola Tinubu over his credit card fraud case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The singer took to social media shortly after his arraignment at a Federal High Court in Lagos today, saying:
“In Nigeria they will arrest u first then they will try find out ur crime after. Who’s got tinubu or buhari’s contact number pls?”.
Meanwhile, EFCC have issued a statement concerning the trial of Afeeze Fashola aka Naira Marley.
The trial which resumed at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi saw Naira Marley plead not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
EFCC statement reads:
”Naira Marley’s trial stalled as Defense Demands More Documents The trial of Afeez Adesina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley before Justice I. Nicholas Oweibo sitting in Federal High Court Ikoyi, Lagos was stalled today, Tuesday, October 22, 2019 as the defense counsel brought in a “motion on notice” asking the prosecution to front load more documents.
”The Nigeria artiste, Afeez Adesina Fashola was arraigned, on May 20, 2019 on an 11-count charge of credit card fraud preferred against him by the EFCC.
”The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charge leading to the commencement of trial.
