Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed what he will do as Chief Security Officer against retaliatory xenophobic attacks by criminals in Lagos State.
In a series of tweets, Sanwo-Olu stated that he will ensure residents of the state are protect against pretentious nationalists.
“While the Federal Government takes diplomatic and proactive actions to protect our brothers and sisters, as the Chief Security Officer of Lagos, I will protect the residents of Lagos against any criminal elements flying pretentious nationalist”.
Issuing a word of advise, Sanwo-Olu stated that people should not allow themselves to be used as a tool by criminal elements.
“I am saddened by reports of violent and criminal activities against legitimate businesses across Lagos over #Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. Do not allow yourself be used as a tool by criminal elements”.
The governor made this known amidst reports of vandalization of goods and properties belonging to South African businesses in Lagos, done in retaliation to the xenophobic attacks suffered by Nigerians in South Africa.
