Trump shares video of Nancy Pelosi blasting lawmakers who wanted to impeach Bill Clinton
US President Donald Trump has shared a video showing Nancy Pelosi blasting lawmakers for making an impeachment move against then president, Bill Clinton, in 1998.
On February 12, 1999, Clinton was acquitted by the senate to remain in office.
Now, an impeachment move has been launched by Nancy Pelosi who is now House Speaker, against Trump over a conversation he had with Ukraine.
The conversation allegedly sees Trump withholding military aid from Ukraine and pressuring the president to investigate Joe Biden and his son who worked for an energy company in Ukraine.
In reaction to Pelosi’s onslaught, Trump shared a video of her stance in the impeachment move against Bill Clinton.
“Today the Republican majority is not judging the president with fairness, but impeaching him with a vengeance,” then-House Minority Leader Pelosi declared on the House floor in December 1998.
She continued, “In the investigation of the president, fundamental principles which Americans hold dear — fairness, privacy, checks and balances — have been seriously violated and why? Because we are here today because the Republicans in the House are paralyzed with hatred of President Clinton. … Until the Republicans free themselves of that hatred, our country will suffer.”
