Tottenham agree deal for Vinicius

Vinicius joined Benfica from Napoli for £15m last summer and will be a backup to Spurs captain, Harry Kane.

He is expected to fly into London this weekend and complete the move.

Vinicius, 25, scored 24 goals last season and was linked with Juventus and Inter Milan.

Jose Mourinho was asked about the deal after Tottenham’s win over Maccabi Haifa in Europa League qualifying, but said:

“No, I want you to ask me that question when it’s confirmed.

Nobody told me it’s done so I’m going to respect the situation, respect the player, respect Benfica and wait a little bit more. Next time we see each other maybe I’m in conditions to answer.”
