Six killed, many kidnapped as armed men attack emir’s convoy

Armed men in military uniform attacked an emir’s convoy on Tuesday, killing six people.

Five other people sustained injuries in the attack that occurred along Kaduna-Zaria ‎highway, the police said on Wednesday. Unknown number of people were also kidnapped.

In a statement sent to the media, the Kaduna police spokesperson, Yakubu Sabo, said the attack was on the convoy of the Emir of Potiskum, Yobe State.

He did not say if the emir was in the vehicle or whether he was among the victims. He, however, said four of those killed by the armed men were aides of the emir.
