Actor Yul Edochie has confirmed reports of sexual harassment in the movie industry by stating that there’s sex for roles in Nollywood.
The actor made this known in reaction to the sex for grades documentary by BBC which shows a UNILAG lecturer, Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu, sexually harassing a female reporter posing as a 17-year old student seeking admission.
The female reporter wore secret cameras while communicating with him in his office. The videos recorded showed Igbeneghu making sexual gestures.
Igbeneghu said, “Don’t you know you are a beautiful girl? Do you know I am a pastor and I am in my 50s but if I want a girl of 17 years, all I need is a sweet tongue and put some money”?
At the second meeting, he asked: “What age do you start knowing men. Be assured that your mother will not hear.”
Reacting to the news, Yul Edochie notified the public that the act displayed by the UNILAG lecturer is also done in other sectors including Nollywood.
“No be only #sexforgrades dey oo, there’s sex for roles in Nollywood, sex for promotion in offices. E dey everywhere. I hope they’ll all be exposed”.
