OPINION: Who is deceiving who? FG expected to meet ASUU so as to get students off the EndSars protests

The Minister of Labour and Employment , Dr . Chris Ngige have shown readiness to meet with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities in a bid to end the over six months strike by the university lecturers .

ASUU had embarked on an indefinite industrial action following its opposition to the government ’s move to enforce the use of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System for salary payment .The union had instead , insisted on a different payment platform , the University Transparency Account System .

At this point, the question to ask ourselves is that,  why is government meeting ASUU at the height of EndSars protests?

Why can’t the government look into their grieviances before now?

Without disputing facts, meeting ASUU now is just a calculative approach to get the students off the streets of EndSars protests.
