Nigerian super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu suffered a heart attack this during training in Egypt, this past Friday. This unfortunate incident happened only a day before the Nigeria’s Afcon opener.
According to reports, the 21-year-old player collapsed while taking a corner kick during training and has been transported to a local hospital. He has since been confirmed ‘okay’ and ‘stabilised’.
According to Demola Olajire, the Nigeria Football Federation media chief, the Bordeaux winger is stable and okay and has been advised to drink more water.
“I have been told Samuel Kalu has been stabilised. He was taken to hospital for tests and he is certified okay. He was dehydrated, they said. Told him he needs to be taking enough fluids,” Olaajire said.
Samuel Kalu has made just five appearances for the Eagles since making his debut in 2018 and has scored one goal.
