Iran: Trump wins at US Senate

The United States Senate has endorsed President Donald Trump’s veto of a resolution on military action against Iran without congressional approval.

On Thursday, Senators voted 49-44 in favor of the resolution.

Senate requires a two-thirds majority to override a presidential veto.

The legislation passed the House of Representatives in March and the Senate in February.

The decision followed Trump’s ordering of the killing of top Iranian General, Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.

After the operation, Iran fired rockets at a U.S base in Iraq.

The retaliation did not cause any severe injuries to soldiers and Trump declared victory for the United State.

In January, Trump narrated details of the US strike that took out Soleimani.

Trump said Soleimani was, “saying bad things about our country. How much of this do we have to listen to? How much are we going to listen to?”

The American leader disclosed that he watched as Soleimani arrived at Baghdad International Airport, where he was met by Iraqi paramilitary leader, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the head of Kata’ib Hezbollah.

Trump recalled the military officials saying, “2 minutes and 11 seconds to live, sir. They’re in the car, they’re in an armored vehicle.

“Sir, they have approximately one minute to live, sir. 30 seconds. 10, 9, 8 …Then all of a sudden, boom. ‘They’re gone, sir’.

“I said, where is this guy? That was the last I heard from him”, the president added.
