How Anthony Joshua celebrated Nigeria’s independence day in style (Photos)
Anthony Joshua celebrated Nigeria’s 59th Independence Day in style with family and friends.
The heavyweight boxer can be seen in the pictures below having a great time with a cake colored to match Nigeria’s flag.
The pictures were shared by his sister, Janet Joshua.
A month ago, Anthony Joshua revealed that he suffered heavily when he lost his titles to Andy Ruiz back in June.
Both heavyweight boxers faced each other at the Madison Square Garden in New York, a bout that saw Andy Ruiz emerge the new holder of the IBF, WBA and WBO titles.
Speaking about how he felt after the bout, Anthony Joshua said: ‘I think I had to grieve and ask myself all the questions you would expect. People say ‘you lost’, I call it a blip.
‘I can’t wait to get in there and fight him. Every time I have fought a champion I have risen to the occasion.’
Joshua added that he has to change his approach by being more proactive at the start of their next fight.
I need to start taking this approach to my fights where I’m a bit more lively. I know I’m capable of it. There is too much at stake.
‘If I go in there where I’m switched on, a time like the Ruiz fight where I am so relaxed, that might be the difference’, Anthony Joshua concluded.
Both boxers will face each other again in Saudi Arabia this December, a fight that has been dubbed ‘Clash of the Dunes‘.
