Empire star Bryshere Gray arrested on domestic violence charges
They have arrested Empire star Bryshere Gray in Phoenix, Arizona on suspicion of domestic violence.
Goodyear Police Department has confirmed the incident and released the mugshot of the actor who played Hakeem on the series.
In a statement released by the officers on their Facebook page, the police say they responded
to a 911 call from a woman who identified herself as Gray’s wife.
The woman, who had flagged someone down for help at a
nearby petrol station, said that he choked until she passed out.
She received treatment and released for non-life-threatening injuries.
When they arrived at his home to arrest him, Gray refused to leave his premises or speak with officers,
causing a SWAT team and crisis negotiation team to be called in.
They finally arrested him on Monday morning, being booked in at 7 am with no further incident.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Gray’s reps for comment or statement.
Gray played the role of Hakeem Lyon, the youngest son of Lucious and Cookie (Terrance Howard and Taraji P Henson).
