Emery reveals what Arsenal board told him following 2-2 draw with Southampton

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has stated that he still has the backing of the club’s board despite a 2-2 draw against Southampton on Saturday.

The visitors got the lead through Danny Ings which was equalized by Alexandre Lacazette.

Lacazette went on to get a second following a goal from James Ward-Prowse.

The game saw boos from Arsenal fans who have seen their side win only two out of their last 11 games.

Speaking in a post match conference, Emery stated that he still has the support of the club.

“The club are supporting me every day and also I have a responsibility.

“I know I can do better, I can take more performances with the players and I’m going to try to do that. Now my job is to analyse, to try to move on with confidence with the players.

“It’s difficult but we need to move on in the next days. After analysing that match we are going to play at home again on Thursday, prepare as well as possible.

“We know, and I know, that we need to connect with our supporters,” he said.
