Cristiano Ronaldo has reached a milestone by scoring the 700th goal of his career during Portugal’s Euro 2020 qualifying loss to Ukraine which was played on Monday, October 14th.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner converted a second-half penalty in Kiev, awarded after the referee pointed to the spot following Taras Stepanenko’s handling of the ball in the box.
The spot kick saw Ronaldo net his 95th goal for Portugal. He now has only Ali Daei of Iran ahead with 109 goals in the all-time international goal list.
Josef Bicam currently sits at 805 goals in the 700 goals mark. Following him his Romario with 772 goals and Pele with 767, both Brazilian stars.
At fourth place is Ferenc Puskas with 746 career goals and Gerd Muller with 735 in fifth position.
Ronaldo sits at 700 goals with his rival Messi set to join the club as he currently has 699 goal.
Ronaldo’s goals mostly came from Real Madrid where he had 450 during his nine year spell at the club between 2009 and 2018.
