Police have fired tear-gas at some youths who were protesting and trying to burn down Shoprite in Abuja.
The police engaged the youths at Lugbe along airport road Abuja and foiled their attempt at setting the establishment ablaze.
Undeterred, the irate protesters vowed not to leave the scene by setting a bonfire on the road.
This has left hundreds of vehicles stranded as policemen got drafted to restore order to the area.
The action of the mob is in reaction to the xenophobic attacks suffered by Nigerians in South Africa which led to loss of their properties and source of livelihood.
