Appeal court nullifies Dino Melaye’s election, orders fresh polls
The election which saw the emergence of Dino Melaye as senator representing Kogi West has been nullified by an Appeal Court.
The senator disclosed this via a tweet which reads:
“I just lost my election at the Appeal Court and fresh election ordered. In all things, I give God the praise. He who started the good thing will definitely complete it. I ask my supporters to be law-abiding as we shall always overcome. To God be the Glory”.
The election which saw Dino Melaye emerge senator was first annulled by a Kogi State National Assembly Election Tribunal had nullified.
This was after it was challenged by Smart Adeyemi of the APC which argued that the election was marred by over-voting and violence.
