Gov Akeredolu Pens State Assembly, Prolongs Medical Absence

In compliance with Section 190 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as altered), Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, has prolonged his medical vacation upon receiving advice from his physician to take sufficient rest after recuperating.

Akeredolu conveyed his decision through an extension letter directed to the State House of Assembly.

Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, the Speaker, received the communication on behalf of other lawmakers and specified that Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor, will continue functioning as Governor until there is an official declaration stating the opposite.

It is worth noting that in the Governor’s previous notification dated June 5 2023, he declared his intention to embark on a medical leave and was anticipated to resume duties on July 6, 2023.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to the Almighty for the swift recovery of the Governor and conveyed confidence in Akeredolu’s prompt return to his official obligations.
