Niger State Government Dissolves Panels, Committees, State-Owned Companies


The governor of Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, has issued a directive for the dissolution of all legal Panels, Committees, and State-Owned Companies in the State, as well as the termination of all political appointments made prior to May 29, 2023.

According to a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, Governor Bago has ordered the immediate dissolution and termination of appointments.

The SSG further clarified that all tenured or otherwise related Panels, Committees, and State-Owned Companies are also affected by the dissolution, and urged concerned officials to promptly comply with the directive.

While acknowledging their positive contributions to the State’s development and their respective offices, the SSG instructed those affected by the dissolution to transfer all Government assets, including official vehicles, to the most senior Director in their respective organizations.

The statement also conveyed the governor’s well wishes to the members of the dissolved Panels, Committees, State-Owned Companies, and affected political appointees in their future pursuits.
