Anambra panel reveals: Mmesoma Ejikeme confessed to manipulating result of UTME

An investigation committee set up by the government of Anambra state has discovered that Mmesoma Ejike, who is currently facing challenges in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), admitted to fabricating her scores.

Mmesoma, a student at Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra state, has claimed that she attained a score of 362 in the 2023 UTME.

Despite not being declared as the top candidate by JAMB, Mmesoma received widespread acclaim.

For this reason, Innocent Chukwuma, the founder of Innoson, honored her with a scholarship valued at N3 million.

However, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) later revealed that the student’s actual score was 249, not 362.

JAMB reaffirmed that Mmesoma falsified her results in an attempt to mislead the public, prompting the establishment of a panel to investigate the matter.

A comprehensive report from the Anambra panel has concluded that Mmesoma fabricated her results.

“The scores presented by Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, which allegedly amounted to 362, are counterfeit, as evidenced by significant discrepancies in the registration number, date of birth, center name, and other violations,” stated the panel.

“Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma herself confessed to tampering with the phony results using her mobile phone,” the panel added.
